Your Better Man data is private.
Your record is private
What you write in Better Man — your ratings, priorities, standards, commitments, notes and reviews — is visible only to you. Every row in the database is locked to your account, and the database itself enforces it: even a bug in the app could not show your record to someone else.
What we store
Only what you enter, with the date it happened, plus a small number of usage events (for example “weekly review completed”) so we can tell whether the product is actually helping people. Usage events never contain what you wrote. Page visits are counted with Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics. Your entries are never sold or shared.
The coach
Off unless you turn it on. When it is on, once a week during your review your record is sent to Anthropic’s Claude so it can write you a short note. Anthropic doesn’t use it to train models. The note is saved with your record and deleted with it. Turn it off in Account at any time.
Keeping bots out
When you start or sign in, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you’re a person — usually invisibly. It isn’t used for advertising, and it never sees your entries.
Error reports
If something breaks, a report goes to Sentry so we can fix it: what went wrong, where in the code, your browser and device type, and a rough location (city). Reports never include what you wrote, your email or your IP address.
Reminders
Off until you turn them on. If you allow notifications, we store the address your browser gives us for delivering them; if you turn on email reminders, we use the email on your account. A reminder only ever says how many commitments you kept — never what you wrote. Turn them off in Account, or with the link in any email.
No account needed to start
When you begin your baseline, Better Man creates a private, anonymous account for you. Add an email later and the same record becomes available on any device you sign in on. No passwords — we email you a link.
Export or delete, any time
From the Account page you can download everything as a single file, or permanently delete your account and every entry in it in one step. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
